At All Saints, we believe the sound of children in worship is holy. Consequently, children are an integral part of every Sunday service, though babysitting for the very young is available for those who want it. Older children are trained to read lessons in the service, be acolytes, assist the altar guild, and videotape the service.
Children’s Christian education at All Saints combines experiential, hands-on learning with more traditional, classroom lessons. Each month, we try to include one of each. As often as possible, this involves going outside after church to explore and experience the wonder of God’s creation in the world around us. Lessons are seasonally appropriate, and draw the children’s attention to the circular, liturgical calendar that guides the church.
There is also a monthly middle school youth group that ties fun and games designed by high school students, with an age-appropriate lesson by the priest. For high school students, there is preparation for confirmation every other year, with ample service opportunities included.
All Christian education at All Saints is free and open to anyone of any faith.
